A luxury modest fashion brand serving women globally set out to replace its hybrid app with a native mobile experience that matched the standard its customers expected.
The existing solution delivered neither the speed nor the experience expected of a high-end fashion destination.
PCI compliance rules on the web automatically logged users out after 30 minutes, forcing shoppers to repeatedly sign back in and regularly abandoning purchases mid-session.
The brand's digital magazine and their shop had no connection. Readers could not act on what they were seeing, and editorial content was driving no measurable commerce.
The Salesforce OCAPI required multiple calls to retrieve simple data, lacked key attributes like brand names on product listing pages, and needed custom endpoints to support the app's requirements.
Kombee managed the full native app execution for iOS and Android, working alongside Astound as the Salesforce Commerce Cloud backend partner and Dressipi as the personalisation vendor, to deliver a platform that brought content and commerce together for the first time.
Kombee built the app natively in Swift for iOS and Java for Android, with lazy loading implemented for high-resolution media to ensure fast, smooth performance on mobile networks. An intro video shown once daily and a greeting screen with rotating quotes gave returning users a considered, brand-appropriate entry point.
A Lifetime Session mechanism kept users permanently logged in on mobile, resolving the 30-minute PCI timeout that had been disrupting the shopping experience and contributing to cart abandonment. Biometric login via Fingerprint and Face ID gave returning users a faster and more secure way back into their accounts.
A native foundation that eliminated the performance and session limitations that had been holding the brand back.

Shopping bags, wishlists, and user profiles stay synchronised in real time between the native app and the web storefront, so a buyer's session is consistent regardless of which device they use.
The brand's editorial magazine was integrated directly into the native app with product tagging in articles, letting readers tap items and move into the purchase flow without leaving the content. Editorial became a direct commerce channel for the first time.

A single-screen Easy Checkout brought together product review, delivery selection, and payment into one step, with Apple Pay, PayPal, and Cash on Delivery supported alongside Checkout.com for processing and Kount for fraud management. Adjust was integrated for marketing analytics and OneSignal for push notifications.
Dressipi was integrated to deliver data-driven garment recommendations that adjust based on each user's browsing and purchase behaviour. Shop the Look tagging on product display pages lets users tap individual items on model images and move directly to that product.
A checkout and discovery experience that reduces friction at every step and makes every product feel personally relevant.
