A relocation and moving services business set out to replace manual, paper-based property surveys with an AI-powered mobile tool that could do the work of a clipboard, a measuring tape, and a calculator in a single camera capture.

Survey data collected in the field had no direct path to the administrative team, creating delays and data silos between on-ground activity and office review.

Surveyors point their device camera at any item in a room and the Gemini AI API returns the object's name, dimensions, and weight in structured JSON format automatically, replacing manual measurement and entry entirely. Detected items are mapped to their specific room context; Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom, and others, keeping the inventory organised by space as the surveyor moves through the property.
Manual override and editing capabilities allow surveyors to correct or adjust any AI-detected entry, ensuring accuracy even when lighting conditions or image quality affect detection results. Session state is maintained persistently across the full survey journey, so switching between rooms never clears previously captured inventory data.
A detection engine that does the measuring, the categorising, and the organising — leaving the surveyor free to move through the property without a clipboard.

A real-time calculation engine updates total volume and weight instantly whenever an item is added, deleted, or when a surveyor switches measurement units between centimetres, metres, kilograms, and other supported formats. Surveyors have an accurate running total throughout the property visit without any manual aggregation.
Each surveyor sees only the leads assigned to their specific account, with debounced search and pagination keeping the lead list fast and navigable even when datasets exceed 500 entries. Network failure handling with specific retry options and clear error messaging keeps surveyors functional in low-bandwidth environments without losing captured data.
A calculation engine that removes the most error-prone part of the survey process and keeps every measurement accurate in real time.

On completion, a single submit action creates a structured survey record that appears immediately on the Admin Panel for office review, replacing the manual process of transferring field notes back to the office. All survey data is synchronised to the backend via REST API, giving the administrative team a real-time view of completed field surveys.
Lazy loading and pagination ensure the app handles large lead datasets without performance degradation, while skeleton screens and loaders keep the interface responsive during data fetch operations. The five-screen funnel — Login, Lead List, Room Selection, Camera, Item List: guides every surveyor from assignment to submission without ambiguity.
A submission flow that closes the gap between field and office instantly, turning every completed survey into an actionable office record the moment it is done.
